Effects of Makeup on Skin

The most important rule to take into account when applying makeup is to always make sure to take it off. This rule is far more important than any other rules which apply to putting on any kind of makeup. The reason behind this is that your skin may suffer a lot of damage from left over make up if it is not cleaned up and removed at the end of the day or at the end of the night. It is important to not let the makeup sit on your face and skin for longer than intended. If you are feeling sleepy at the end of the day and decide to call it a day, make sure to always take your makeup off no matter how tired you are, and your skin will thank you in the long run.

Makeup left on the skin overnight tends to melt down at a molecular level and clogs the pores of your skin, which can lead to a number of dermatological issues. Your skin must breathe at all time, especially over night when it regenerates itself and prepares for a new day of being exposed to the elements. Makeup stops your skin from breathing, and this can lead to a number of health issues which go beyond those which appear just at skin level. Leaving makeup on for several nights a month can lead to the apparition of zits, pimples, and blackhead, which can be painful to remove and can leave marks on your skin after removal.

If you do not have make up remover at the time or do not have it at all, you can still use other products to efficiently remove your make up in no time, and in a healthy way. You can always use olive oil and a cotton pad to gently rub off the make up, it will be a little slower than with make up remover, but the end results will be the same and you can rest assured you will end up with a clean complexion and will avoid the problems which may appear from wearing excessive makeup or wearing it for long periods of time.

Applying skin care product to your skin and exfoliation are two very important processes, but cleaning your skin before doing so is vital for your health. Try to exfoliate at least two times a week and apply skincare products on a daily basis if you have the means. Before applying any cream, spray, or treatment, always make sure your skin is clean and clear so the products can penetrate it and work their magic without any complications. Never apply skincare products on your face or skin while you are wearing makeup as the side effects can be devastating to your complexion. For exfoliation you do not even need to purchase special products if you don't have the money. You can simply make you own exfoliation creams at home from household ingredients such a yogurt and others, and also use the steam from your bath to properly exfoliate.
